Some Info about me

  • Active developer of Valgrind
  • Grew up and studied in the UK
  • Based in France

Valgrind has it's own source code repo. I use github for two things. Firstly as the source for the FreeBSD "valgrind-devel" port. This can be updated more frequently than the twice yearly official releases. I also use the issues for tracking internal problems that are less visible than the Valgrind bugzilla.

I will use any funds to cover hardware expenses (my main development machine is an old Intel Xeon W3520, and I also have an even older Opteron machine). I'd like to get some newer hardware because there are some CPU op-code related issues in Valgrind that I can't work on easily.

On macOS I don't have access to M1/M2 hardware and my MacBook pro is too old to upgrade to macOS 14 Sonoma.
